Many songs from popular children's composer Joe Raposo ensue, including: "I Look and What Do I See!," "No Girl's Toy," "Rag Dolly," "Poor Babette," "A Miracle," "Ho-Yo," "Candy Hearts," "Blue," "The Mirage," "I Never Get Enough," "I Love You," "Loony Anthem," "It's Not Easy Being King," "Hooray for Me," "You're My Friend," and "Home." ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Review

Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure is a mildly diverting, but overlong and meandering, animated offering that very young children may enjoy, but that most adults will find rather rough going. Most of the problems originate with the screenplay, the questing plot of which comes across as just a series of unrelated episodes, many of which could be (and should have been) removed without doing any damage. In addition to this excess padding, there are few characters that really engage the viewer. The lead characters have virtually no personality (and what they do have is rather cloying), and many of the others are abrasive and annoying. Only the Camel is appealing -- so much so that he makes up for a great many other deficiencies in the movie. Joe Raposo's over-abundant score is treacly, with no more than two numbers that are worth hearing. Visually, the colors are fairly bland and the drawings have the sketchy-pencil look that comes with the use of direct-cel Xeroxing. Still, the animation itself is fairly strong and often quite effective. Director Richard Williams' pacing is, unfortunately, sluggish, allowing many scenes to go on longer than is desired, but his actors lend strong and distinctive vocal work. ~ Craig Butler, All Movie Guide
