Ram Bahadur Bomjon is a popular Nepalese religious leader born
in 1990, who had achieved a celebrity status due to his motionless
meditation performance, allegedly "without food", ten months from
2005, as well as for well-documented controversies of violence,
witch-accusations and kidnappings. Previously known as Palden
Dorje, Buddha Boy, Tapasvi, currently he is known by different
names: Maitriya Guru, Maha Sambodhi, Dharma Sangha. He currently
claims to be God's direct incarnation on earth, higher than Gautama
Buddha, as well as the awaited Maitreya Buddha. He has hundreds of
thousands of Nepalese and some hundreds of Western followers. His
official organization is called Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha (BSDS)
with registered branches in the USA, Canada and Japan. A new
religion founded by Ram Bomjon is called Maitri Dharma and is set
out to conquer the world.
