The Torrens River flows through the city of Adelaide. The city
of Adelaide was founded in 1836. The city (not the river) was
planned by Colonel Light after Captain Collet Barker recommended
the site, and after Light's second-in-command, George Kingston,
identified the Torrens River flowing down from the Mt Lofty
Ranges.
