RNA carries out several important roles. There are 3 main types
of RNA, messenger RNA (mRNA), ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and transfer RNA
(tRNA).
mRNA carries a copy of the instructions for creating proteins
from the DNA in the nucleus to the ribosomes for translation.
rRNA makes up part of the ribosomes.
tRNA carries amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) to
the ribosomes
