Biography

Robin Mattson was 10 years old when she was selected to play the juvenile lead in Ivan Tors' Namu the Killer Whale (1966). Few of Mattson's adult roles have been in family fare: most of her films bear such hothouse titles as Candy Stripe Nurses (1974) and Phantom of the Paradise (1974). Mattson is best known for her extensive work on television soap operas. She has starred as Heather Grant Webber on General Hospital, Hope Bauer on The Guiding Light, Delia on Ryan's Hope and Gina Capwell Timmons on Santa Barbara, and also appeared regularly on All My Children. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Robin Mattson (born June 1, 1956 in Los Angeles) is an American soap opera actress.

Mattson was typically cast in supporting, "villainess" type roles, as in her roles in Santa Barbara and General Hospital, where she played an immoral goldigger and a psychopath, in the respective shows. Mattson often played the role of an observing outsider, as in her roles on Santa Barbara, All My Children and As the World Turns, in which she wanted to regain relationships with her children and her sense of family.

Mattson's soap roles include:

Mattson acted in the romantic comedy film, The Last Guy on Earth (2006). She also played Francine Landon, mother of an American Muslim extremist, in "American Jihad", the 13th-season opener of television series Law & Order. Before her soap opera career, she was in the 1975 film Return to Macon County with Nick Nolte and Don Johnson.

  • Mattson is a gourmet cook. She co-authored the cook book Soap Opera Café : The Skinny on Food from a Daytime Star.[citation needed]
  • Mattson also had a significant role in the two-hour Dukes of Hazzard episode, "Carnival of Thrills", which aired at the beginning of season three in 1981. In it she played Bo Duke's love interest, "Diane" who was also the head of a traveling stunt-thrill show.[citation needed]
  • Mattson also starred in Daniel Boone on May 7, 1970 the episode was called "Israel and Love", she played the daughter of Tim O'Connor.

Family

In 2005, Mattson and former soccer player Werner Roth were engaged. The couple married in June 2006.[citation needed]
