Mac Ádhaimh, Roibeárd (Robert S. McAdam) (1808-1895), scholar and patron. Born in Belfast, he was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. He worked in his father's business and became co-founder of the Ulster Gaelic Society (Cuideachta Gaeilge Uladh) in 1833. Mac Ádhaimh sponsored traditional Irish scholars, including Aodh Mac Dómhnaill and Art Mac Bionaid, who collected and transcribed manuscripts for him. He ran the Soho Iron Foundry.
