In John 4:12 Jesus asks "Are you greater than our father
Jacob..." Jesus was talking to the Samaritan woman at the well. She
was amazed that anyone would allow a Samaritan to drink from this
well as they were not liked by other Jews. Jesus told the Samaritan
woman he could give her a drink that she would never be thirsty
again. This of course was in reference to the word of his
preaching.
