The white stroke is usually felt to be the national bird of Lithuania, but many may argue that it is the wolf due to the iron wolf legend which is also now in the name of the core unit in the Lithuanian army. There is also the bear which was the ancient symbol of Samogitia one of the regions of Lithuania. In truth Lithuania doesn't have a official national animal, but many different people around the country claim it to be different animals, for example being born in Vilnius I believe it should be the wolf in memory of the first dukes dream and how a dream became the largest city in the country and capital. However that's just my opinion.

The White Stork is the national animal of Lithuania.
