Grouping of expenses reported on a company's Profit and Loss Statement between Cost of Goods Sold and Income Deductions. Included are such items as salespersons' salaries and commissions, advertising and promotion, travel and entertainment, office payroll and expenses, and executives' salaries. SG&A expenses do not include such items as interest or amortization of Intangible Assets which would be listed as income deductions. See also Operating Profit (or Loss).
