Solomon's Temple was destroyed by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 586BC.

2Ki 25:1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, thatNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

2Ki 25:4 And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night ....

2Ki 25:9 And he burnt the house of the LORD, ....

Anything of brass, gold, and silver was taken back to Babylon:-

Ki 25:13 And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and thebrasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried thebrass of them to Babylon.

2Ki 25:14 ...and all the vessels of brasswherewith they ministered, took they away.

2Ki 25:15 ...and such things as were ofgold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.

A second temple to replace Solomon's Temple was erected in about 520BC:-

Ezr 5:12 But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand ofNebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.

Ezr 5:13 But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to [re]build this house of God.

Ezr 5:14 And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon,and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;

Ezr 5:15 And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be [re]builded in his place.

This replacement Temple was rebuilt by King Herod but destroyed by the Romans in 70AD.

Reading from the book Ezra:

1 Cyrus, king of Persia had just begun to rule Babylon. He decided to make a new *law. Men wrote it down. And he sent out men with the news. He sent them to all the people that he ruled. God had caused him to do this. God had said to Jeremiah years before that he would send the *Israelites home (Jeremiah 29:10).

v2 This is what Cyrus, the king of Persia said:

'The *Lord, the God of *heaven, has given me power over all the *kingdoms on the earth. He has said that I must build a *temple for him at Jerusalem. That is the biggest city in Judah. v3 Any of Israel's people who live in my land can return to Jerusalem. They must build a *temple there for the *Lord, the God of Israel. He is the God of Jerusalem. I hope that he will be with those people. v4 Many *Israelites are living here now. The people who live near to them must give *silver and gold to them. And they must give animals and other things to the *Israelites for *offerings to their God. They will take these gifts to him in Jerusalem's *temple.'

v5 Then the leaders of Judah and Benjamin's families and the *priests and the *Levites prepared to go to Jerusalem. God had said that they must build the *Lord's house there. And he had caused them to want to do this. v6 All the people who lived near them gave them animals, gold, *silver and other things for *offerings. They also gave them many valuable gifts. v7 Then King Cyrus remembered the things that Nebuchadnezzar had taken away from the *temple in Jerusalem (Daniel 1:1-2). Nebuchadnezzar had put them in his god's house. v8 Mithredath kept Cyrus's valuable things safe. So Cyrus asked him to fetch the things that belonged to Jerusalem's *temple. Then Mithredath gave them to Sheshbazzar, an important leader from Judah.
