Artificially replicate the behavior of a system for purposes of analysis. The simulation may be less complex than the actual system, allowing the analyst to focus on certain variables that are of interest. See Sensitivity Analysis.
Example: A computer model was prepared to simulate the financial performance of a property considered for purchase. Inputs to the model included expected annualRent, Operating Expenses, Mortgage payments, and resale value.
