Soy egg is a type of Chinese egg cooked in soy sauce, sugar, water, as well as optionally other herbs and spices.
Usage
Soy egg may be eaten individually as a snack. It is sometimes used as a condiment in congee. It may also be used in a traditional Chinese egg dish, in which regular eggs, century eggs, and soy eggs are steamed together.
Availability
Soy eggs are commonly sold in convenience stores in East Asian countries.
