There are many examples of colonization in World History including the colonization of English settlers in Southern Africa. English settlers also colonized the United States.

Space Colonization(space settlement, space humanization, space habitation) is autonomous (self-sufficient) human habitation outside of Earth. It is a long-term goal of national space programs.

There is presently no national problem that can be solved by space colonization,

and therefore, virtually zero political or popular support for it. Considering the

pervasive fiscal constraints in the places where the money would have to come

from, I would say: Don't hold your breath.
