1. Elaborate television show, motion picture, or live stage presentation that usually features a very large cast, unusual costuming, and many special effects, and costs vast sums of money to produce.

2. outdoor advertising display that features neon or electric lighting, some moving parts, lavish colors, and/or unusual special effects as a part of the advertisement. Located in or around large metropolitan areas, spectaculars are usually custom-made to fit special high-traffic locations and are the costliest of all outdoor advertising displays. Typically, they are leased by an advertiser on some long-term arrangement.
