Spiders. We know them. A lot of us are scared to death of them. They crawl along the ground, and sometimes even on the water, on eight legs, and look at the world through eight eyes. They have large fanged mandible that secrete a paralyzing venom, and their bite can be painful. They set up insidious traps with their webs of silk, and even when the spider is gone, the web will remain as some faint, ghostly wisp on the wall. When they catch their prey, you can be absolutely sure that the poor thing will die a slow and agonizing death, wrapped in silk, unable to move, and slowly, surely, and bit by bit eaten alive over a long period of time. And that is not getting into the spiders that are actually dangerous to us, from the black widow, to the brown recluse, to the Sydney funnel web spider!

Naturally, spiders make an iconic symbol of fright in Halloween, and can make an equally suitable theme for a costume! And luckily enough, there is a nice variety on sale all over the web.

The Spider Web Gauze Ghost costume brings to mind a phantom that has haunted a house so ancient that even the spiders have abandoned it. Spiders are often associated with witches, and there are a good number of those for sale. Add a bit of some arachnid sexiness with the likes of the Witch's Web or Spider Kiss costumes with their web-themed dress patterns. Of course, not everything needs to be horrific.
