Stella Walsh was a female Olympic sprinter who was born in
Poland and lived from 1911 to 1980. She was shot to death in 1980
and her autopsy showed that she had both female and male
chromosomes as well as male genitals. For this reason, people began
to refer to her (posthumously) as Stella the Fella.
