Kurumba Nayanar is from tribal class who were living in
Perumizhalai.
He was a Siva Raja Yogi. He was going to Siva temple everyday,
and
after chanting Panchakshara and praying to Him, he used to
come
back and sit in Raja Yogi, visualizing Siva and Sakti on the
Bull
within his Ajna Chakra. He came to know about
Sundaramoorthy,
of Tiruvarur, who has just then sung Tiru Thondar Thohai. He
was eager to meet him. Suddenly, one day, he divined that
Sundaramoorthy had been called by Siva and he was leaving for
Kailash. He did not want to waste more time. Now that
Sundarmoorthy
was going to Kailash, he decided to go to Kailash and welcome
him
when he arrived!
He activated his sushumna, unified his antha karanas and leaped
into
the Siva-Sakti Effulgence in Sahasrara, by piercing his
skull!
