Surt (or Sirte) (Arabic: سرت, Ar-ly-Surt.ogg pronunciation ) is one of the districts of Libya, which lies in the north of the country and borders the Gulf of Sidra. Its capital is the city of Surt. Al-Tahadi University is located in Surt.

Surt District boundaries have changed after the 2007 administrative reorganization of libyan Shab'iyat (see maps).

In the north, Surt has a shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea. On land, it borders the following districts:

Transport

Surt is the interim destination of a railway from Tunisia under construction in 2007.
