The feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) celebrates the fact that during the 40 years the Hebrews spent in the wilderness after leaving Egypt (about 3,300 years ago) they lived in temporary dwellings and were surrounded by divine clouds-of-glory.

It's a "joyous seven-day celebration" among God's people when they reap the fruits of their labors, praising God for a prosperous harvest and profitable year [the Grace, Mercy and Salvation of God]. It's a reminder of our transient existence in the flesh [living in booths]... and looking forward to our coming "change" [I Cor.15:51-53].

On the heels of the seven-day "FOT" follows the "eighth day" -- the "LAST GREAT DAY" of the Feast -- which pictures "JUDGMENT DAY"... the final phase of God's plan [see the chronology of Christ's thousand year rule revealed in Revelation 20, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment."

The Feast of Tabernacles celebratesthe Hope of God's people, when Christ will once again stand on the earth... AS ITS KING... TO SAVE IT FROM MAN'S DESTRUCTION OF IT.

Zechariah prophesys of Christ's return as the KING OF THE EARTH... at which time, He COMMANDS ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH TO OBSERVE THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES FOR EACH OF THE THOUSAND YEARS OF HIS RULE:

"...And the Lord WILL BE KING OVER ALL THE EARTH. On that Day there will be One Lord - His name alone will be worshiped..." (Zech.14:9 NLT New Living Translation).

"In the end, the enemies of Jerusalem who survived the plague will go up to Jerusalem EACH YEAR [for a thousand years] TO WORSHIP THE KING, THE LORD ALMIGHTY, and to celebrate the FEAST OF SHELTERS [Feast of Tabernacles]." (verse 16)

This world remains ignorant of the Truth about the "FOT," thinking it to be merely an annual "Jewish festival." But, "in the end"... when Christ the King returns with His Kingdom... ALL NATIONS will keep it, when they witness first-hand the Righteous Justice of their Creator and begin to obey God's laws.

"And if the people of Egypt refuse to attend the Festival, the Lord will punish them with the same plague that He sends on the other nations who refuse to go. Egypt and the other nations will all be punished if THEY DON'T GO TO CELEBRATE THE FESTIVAL." (Zech.14:18-19 NLT)

The Feast of Tabernacles celebratesthe thousand year "Sabbath Rest of God"... when for a thousand years, Satan will be removed from influencing the nations of the world... man's sins will not be allowed to manifest... and the nations will be taught to follow the Righteous Ways of God by Jesus Christ and His saints.

"But in the end, the Holy People of the Most High will be given the Kingdom, and they will rule forever and ever." (Dan.7:18 NLT)

"...all who are victorious, who obey Me to the very end, I will give Authority over ALL THE NATIONS. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots." (Rev.2:26-27 NLT)
