Computer file format used to store bit-mapped graphic images; represented as dots in rows and columns. TIFF file names end with the designation .TIF. TIFF files can store images in a wide variety of resolutions, colors and grayscales. The TIFF file format is supported by many systems and is the most commonly used format for scanned images such as photographs.
