Arabic is their official language. But about 10 million
Moroccans speak Berber, which has 3 different dialects, Tarifit,
Tashelhit, and Tamazight. French is Morocco's third unofficial
language. It is also taught universally, and is used widely in
education and government. Many people in the northern part of the
country speak Spanish. English is taught to students starting in
grade four until they graduate.
And just in case you're wondering, 98.7% of all Moroccans are
Muslim, 1.1% are Christian, and 0.2% are Jewish. The population, as
of July 2004 is 32,209,101. The Capitol is Rabat, and the
government is constitutional monarchy.
