Mark Tebbe
Mark Tebbe is Chairman of Techra Networks, a Chicago-based investment and consulting firm, and a founder of Answers Corporation.
In 1984, Tebbe founded Lante Corporation and was chairman of the board until it was acquired by SBI Group in September 2002. Under his leadership, Lante grew from a two-person operation into an 850-employee public company with offices throughout the United States and Asia. Tebbe remained an SBI Board member until it was acquired in August 2004.
Tebbe is a recognized authority on emerging technologies and his insights have appeared in leading national publications like Business Week, Fortune and The Wall Street Journal. He actively serves on several technology, charity and software corporate boards.
He was named to Crain's Chicago Business's prestigious "40 under 40" list and to Sm@rt Reseller's "Smart 25" executives list in 1999. In 2000, he was inducted to the Chicago Area Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame, and in 2001 he was honored with the Chicago Illini of the Year Award and the Alumni Honor Award for Distinguished Service in Engineering in light of his service to the University of Illinois, his alma mater.
Tebbe is a member of the board of directors of Answers Corporation (formerly GuruNet).
