The tebibyte (a contraction of terabinary byte, pronounced TEH-bee-byte) is a standards-based binary multiple (prefix tebi-, symbol Ti-) of the byte, a unit of digital information storage. The tebibyte unit symbol is TiB.[1]
- 1 tebibyte = 240 bytes = 1099511627776bytes = 1,024 gibibytes
The tebibyte is closely related to the terabyte, which is defined as 1012 bytes = 1000000000000bytes, but has been used as a synonym for tebibyte in some contexts (see binary prefix).
