Dictionary: Tech·ni·col·or   (tĕk'nĭ-kŭl'ər) pronunciation
 

A trademark used for a method of making movies in color in which films sensitive to different primary colors are exposed simultaneously and are later superimposed to produce the full-color print. This trademark often occurs in lowercase and in figurative contexts in print: “Trees in autumnal technicolor of crimson and gold turned suddenly white after a storm” (Washington Post).

Biography

Drum-and-bliss project Technicolor was the guise of Bay Area composer/producer Justin LaBo, by day a computer science student at the University of California. Signing to Darla Records, Technicolor debuted in 1998 with the LP One Touch Test Strip; both Far from Home (a contribution to the label's ongoing "Bliss Out" series) and the full-length Normal Control Range followed two years later. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
