Terumot

("Heave Offerings"). Sixth tractate of Order Zera'Im in the Mishnah. Its 11 chapters deal with the laws of separating the priest's share of agricultural produce (cf. Lev. 22:12; Num. 18:8, 11, 12, 24-32; Deut. 12:6, 18:4). This 1/50th was the first "gift" which had to be separated and none of the food could be eaten before it was performed. The Mishnah also discusses the mixing of terumah with common produce, the prohibition against eating terumah by non-priests, and the prohibition against using terumah for other purposes (see Tithes). The subject matter is amplified in the Jerusalem Talmud and the Tosefta.

Terumot (Hebrew: תרומות‎, lit. "Donations") is the sixth tractate of Seder Zeraim ("Order of Seeds") of the Mishnah and of the Talmud. It discusses two type of donations, one the terumah which is generally 1/50 of your crop given to the Kohen and 10% of the Masser that is given to Levite is given to the Kohen, called "Terumat Masser." The laws of Terumah are still applicable to produce grown in the Land of Israel. There is debate as to whether the present day obligation is Biblical or Rabbinic.[1] These laws are also mentioned in detail in tractate of "Demai" and "Maasserot".
