1. Wording in an advertisement, brochure, or other printed document. Generally, the more complex a purchase decision is, the more effective text can be in an advertisement. For example, the more information an advertiser provides about the features of a videocassette recorder, the better; but, for an item like ice cream, informational text is less persuasive.
