Don't let the name confuse you: Professional Basketball Club owns two teams -- the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association and the Seattle Storm of the WNBA. Sam Schulman founded the NBA team in 1967 and sold it to Barry Ackerley, who formed the Storm in 1999. The SuperSonics franchise boasts one NBA title earned in 1979. It reached the finals again in 1996, but lost to the Chicago Bulls. The Storm brought home the WNBA championship in 2004 behind the play of stars Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson. An investment group led by Oklahoma businessman Clay Bennett acquired both teams in 2006 from a group that included Starbucks founder Howard Schultz.
