In the 1939 Movie "Frontier Marshal" Wyatt Earp was played by Randolph Scott. There was a 1934 movie based on the same story that had the hero's name being Michael Wyatt and was played by George O'Brian.

The first time Wyatt Earp was portrayed in a movie is in Wild Bill Hickock, a 1923 film directed by Clifford Smith. William S. Hart plays Hickock and Bert Lindlay is Wyatt Earp. Wyatt who then lived in the Los Angeles area was contacted to be a consultant on the film!

Wyatt Earp died in 1929.
