The 1932 The Mummy had the name of Im-Ho-Tep, also known as Ardeth Bey. In the first mummy film, Boris Karloff was the character of the mummy in that film. There was a sequence mummy movies after this and Boris Karloff played the mummy a few more times.

Boris Karloff remodeled his costume after Rameses III for the original 1932 movie The Mummy.

The mummy 'Imhotep' was supposed to resemble Seti II. But Boris Karloff (who played the Mummy) looked nothing like the mummy of Seti II in the film. Instead he bore a resemblance to the mummy of Ramesses III.
