I'm not sure of the version you heard on NPR but "Uh Oh (Get Out Of The Car)" was a Jan. 1955 release on the Okeh label by The Treniers. The group's main men were: Cliff Trenier, Milt Trenier, Buddy Trenier, Claude Trenier, Henry (Tucker) Green, Don Hill, and Eugene Gilbeaux. In total, this R&B act lasted from the 1940s to the 1980s. I believe others like Louis Jordan and Sammy Davis, Jr. also cut versions of this novelty tune. Hope this helps ! Bob Raymond
