I do not know what the answer is - but theatric does not use both "c's" either.

Actually, they don't do the surgery. Though they do consult the surgeon (sorry but I do forget the name, it might be theatric surgeon or something like that) but anyways. They are the ones who tell the surgeons what kind of procedure of surgery they might have to perform.
