Section of a computerized customer file record that represents a particular order; also called contract. In some file systems, a base record, containing information pertinent to each customer (such as name and address), is supplemented by trailers containing information pertinent to each order from that customer, such as source key, product name, quantity, and price and payment status. Trailers accumulate as additional orders are received. In subscription files, trailers accumulate as subscriptions are renewed and are deleted as subscriptions expire.
