One result of the Treaty of San Stefano was the creation of a Greater Bulgaria, which significantly expanded Bulgaria's territory at the expense of the Ottoman Empire. However, this expansion was later revised by the Congress of Berlin in 1878.

The treaty ended the Russo-Turkish war, giving much of the
Ottoman Empire's Eastern European holdings to Russia or freed them,
leaving them subject to Russian influence.
This treaty was soon rolled back at the Congress of Berlin,
where all the European powers came together to redivide the Balkans
amongst them
