Trikal (1985) (Past, Present and Future) is an Indian movie written and directed by Shyam Benegal, set in Goa during the early 1960's (pre liberation) Period. The film starred yester years actress, Leela Naidu, in a comeback role after many decades.

The film was selected for the Indian Panorama at Filmotsav 1986, and for the Indian Film Retrospective, Lisbon 1986. It was later invited to the London Film Festival 1986 [1]

Overview

Set in 1961 Goa, when colonial rule of Portuguese was on its last gasp [2], the movie revolves around the life and tribulations of a fictional Goan Christian family called "Souza Soares".

The film shot in the ancestral home of Mario Miranda, at Loutolim, Goa.
