I would like to say, as an Englishman, of course not. But the truth is different. And the first casualty of War is the Truth. However I think it bears testimony, then & now, that Britain has a reputation to fighting within the rules by & large, I am sure there are exceptions....

Ginny Wade, a seamstress, was the first civilian casualty of the Civil War. She was the only Gettysburg civilian killed directly during the Battle of Gettysburg.
