Best known as the birthplace Elvis Presley, Tupelo Mississippi
is a great place to visit for scenery, history and classic cars,
too.
Visitors to Tupelo can check out the two room house where The
King was born, as well as the Elvis Presley Museum and Chapel. For
vintage car lovers, The Tupelo Automobile Museum features over 100
antique and classic cars showing the evolution of the American
automobile. History buffs can visit Tupelo’s Veterans Museum and
the sites of historic battles of the Civil War. After a long day
with cars, history and The King, be sure to take in the scenery of
the historic Natchez Trace Parkway. This National Scenic Byway runs
from Tupelo to Nashville and is open for hiking, bicycling, and, of
course, driving your own classic or not-so-classic automobile along
its 444-mile stretch.
Tupelo is a wonderful place to slow down and take in
Mississippi’s culture and history.
