"Two" is an episode of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone.

More like one insignificant corner patch in the crazy quilt of combat. But it was enough to end the existence of this little city. It's been five years since a human being walked these streets. This is the first day of the sixth year, as man used to measure time. | ” |

Few details are given about the war that preceded the events of the episode. Rod Serling says the time frame could be in the past or the future. A female survivor of an apocalyptic war, her face dirty and her army uniform tattered, stumbles in upon a deserted, war-ravaged town. She looks in some of the windows, particularly at a white dress, then finds a restaurant and goes inside and searches for food, clearly scarce. She finds a can of chicken, but before she can open it, a man walks in and eyes the food from the doorway. Recognizing his army uniform as a uniform of the enemy, she begins defending herself and her findings, throwing pots and pans, and eventually, physically fighting the man. However, the man knocks her out and begins to eat the food while the woman lies unconscious on the floor. He then sees a calendar with a woman on the wall, and he turns to look back at the woman and realizes he wants human company more than to continue a feud.
He wakes the woman up, who initially tries to defend herself again, but the man, speaking in English, announces that there is no reason to fight anymore. The woman, not understanding English, is still anxious around the man, but is now also intrigued. She follows him into a barber shop and watches as he shaves himself with leftover soap from before the town was destroyed. The man is still rather hard towards her, and he throws a towel at her. But she continues to follow him to a movie theater. The man stares at a poster advertising a romantic film, and he turns to look back at the woman, again hinting that he longs for companionship. But they both spy two corpses lying in the theater, and they both run for the loaded guns, aiming at each other at the same time.
However, after a tense moment, the man turns, walks away, and slings the gun over his shoulder. The woman follows him, and the two walk along the road. They stop in front of the store with the dress in the window and she mutters prekrassnyi (прекрасный), the Russian word for "pretty". The man rips the dress off the dummy and gives it to the woman. She goes to put it on inside a recruiting office, but seeing the posters in English on the wall advertising victory over the enemy, she angrily shoots her gun at the man instead, burning part of his face. The man storms away.
Later, the man is changing out of his army clothes into a makeshift tux, holding two cans of food. He sees the woman peeking out from behind a car, and he tells her to go away, but she emerges from the car, in the dress, and the man realizes she has resigned herself to being a civilian. He hands her one of the cans and calls her prekrassnyi (прекрасный). The woman smiles for the first time. Still with their guns slung over their shoulders, they walk away, side by side, along the road, no longer in their uniforms, but resembling a bride and groom.
Notably, this episode contains no supernatural elements. Similar episodes include "The Jeopardy Room" and "The Shelter".

This episode was actually filmed on the backlot of Hal Roach Studios in Culver City, California, which was literally falling apart, due to mismanagement and disuse (the facilities were finally torn down in 1963). Very little set decoration was needed to embellish an "abandoned city" here.
