Plot

This Korean drama, set on the front lines of the Korean War, depicts a smaller conflict that becomes a metaphor for the larger one. Yun lives in a small thatched cottage located along the front lines of the Korean War. A middle-aged widow, she barely survives by watching the surrounding troop action and then flying the flag of those troops closest to her. When an old farmer happens by, she invites him to be her lover. However, when a younger, stronger man appears, the pragmatic Yun boots the old man into the unheated guest house. Things are fine until a young woman appears and becomes the old man's lover. This makes Yun and her young man jealous and the angry foursome end up fighting in the yard. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
