temporary, temporarily

Temporary is pronounced tem-pǝ-rǝ-ri, as four syllables, with an additional stress on the -ar- in American English. Temporarily has five syllables and until recently was pronounced in British English with the stress on the first syllable, but the American English pronunciation with the stress on the -ar- is now almost as common in British English.
