Unilateral vocal cord paralysis is too complex to recommend
treatment without further information. To know how to treat it,
such as what exercises will be helpful, you need to know if the
cord is paralyzed along its entire length and in which position it
is lying paralyzed. Without all the background information any
prescribed exercise or other treatment will be useless.
The voice will be weak and breathy whether the person is talking
or singing.
Injected material is sometimes used to bulk up the paralyzed
side.
