Unscheduled news occurs when a surprising event has unfolded in the world. Usually many stations will have an unscheduled news broadcast when a tragedy occurs.

You can only get fired for not working unscheduled hours if it is in your contract. If this is not in your contract you cannot be fired.

The flight is in the air and has changed its destination to an unscheduled airport. After landing at an unscheduled airport, the state will change to Diverted.

When an unscheduled session is called by the President it is called a special session. Special sessions may be convened to address special topics, or emergencies such as war or natural disaster.
