Israel's air force and navy attacked the USS Liberty in June 1967 while the ship was in international waters. Israel attacked and tried very hard to sink the intelligence eaves dropping ship so that the USA would not know about Israel's war strategy. Many US sailors died as a result of Israel's unprovoked attack the US naval ship. The USS Liberty managed to escaped destruction at the hands of Israel. LBJ said nothing to Israel about the incident, so he would not offend American Jewish Democrats.

USN battleships were named after US states; such as the USS Arizona, USS California, USS Nevada, USS New York, USS Texas, USS Tennessee, USS Oklahoma, USS Alabama, USS South Dakota, USS Washington, USS Mississippi, USS West Virginia, USS Utah, etc.

there were 8 frigates on the American sife- the USS Constitution, the USS John Admas, the USS President, the USS United States, the USS Constellation, the USS Boston, The USS New York, and the USS Congress
