Biography

In films from 1956, British actress Vanda Godsell specialized in playing disheveled housewives, busybody landladies, and blowsy domestics. She always seemed to be "Mrs." Somebody: Mrs. Weaver in This Sporting Life (1963), Mrs. Pitt in Bitter Harvest (1965), Mrs. Goodge in Wrong Box (1967), and so on. Blake Edwards tapped her services in two of his Inspector Clouseau films, A Shot in the Dark (1964) and The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1978).
