This is the most common setup, with the first numbers being with the range selector in the low position, and the second set being with the range selectors in the high position. If you're running anything current with a 10 speed, this is probably all you'll see.

This is the only real variation you're likely to see on that, and if you're seeing this, you're probably running either an older 10 speed, a vocational truck, or you have a 15 speed (which has a switch on the side of the shifter to engage low reduction gears while in the low range - sometimes it's also known as a '10LL')

This pattern is known as the 'Super 10', and has since been discontinued by Eaton Fuller. Those who liked it did so for the fact that it only had 5 shift motions, and operated more like the top side of a 13 speed. The button would be on the side, low range would be the button pulled back, high range would be the button pushed forward, and you would effectively split each gear.

This pattern, when completely manual, is known as a 9 speed. The difference between the two is how they're labeled. There's a variation of this often known as the "Lightning 10" or "Super 10 Top 2"... how to explain it...

The difference between a 9 and a 13 speed is that the 13 speed has an auxiliary box on the back of the transmission, connected to a splitter knob on the side. This allows you to split the top gears. These are known as "convertible" 9 speeds, and the transmission nomenclature will have a "C" in it to indicate such (e.g., an RTLO16909A is not convertible, but an RTOC16909A transmission is). The "Lightning 10" is basically a 13 speed with the splitter locked out of the top gears except for the final gear, which shifts from low overdrive (.87) to high overdrive (.74) automatically). Werner Enterprises used to run these, and while the 'top two auto' feature wasn't popular with their drivers, many owner/operators and small fleets bought their trucks 1: because Fleet Truck Sales at the time had one of the better deals going for used fleet trucks and 2: because the Lightning 10 converted to a regular 13 speed quite easily.

The only other variations you'll see will be gear ratios... the 10 speeds were available in direct drive (1:1.. a lot of the 2002 and older Swift and Maverick trucks would have 2.93, 2.79, or 2.64 rears with a direct drive nine or ten speed transmission... in the case of Swift, their 9 speeds were convertible to 13 speeds), older versions ran "low hole" overdrive (.86, .87, or .90, often run with 2.93 to 3.08 rear ends), and "large hole" overdrives (.73 or .74, with rear ends ranging from 3.08 to 3.90 for highway trucks, depending on year of the engine, make of the engine, powerband, etc)
