Biography

Scottish juvenile actor Vincent Winter made an auspicious debut in the British adventure The Kidnappers (1953). For his role, he received a special Oscar. His film career lasted until the mid-'60s. Vincent Winter (born 29 December 1947 – 2 November 1998) was a Scottish cinema actor who was successful as a child actor.

Career

Winter was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and made his first film appearance at the age of six in The Little Kidnappers (1954) winning, along with his co-star Jon Whiteley, an Academy Juvenile Award. He appeared in several films as a child, including Beyond This Place (1959) and the Walt Disney features Greyfriars Bobby (1961) and The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964).

As an adult he continued to work in films behind the scenes, and was a production manager on such films as For Your Eyes Only (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and The Color Purple (1985).

He died in Chertsey, England as a result of a heart attack.
