An enhancement to Explorer in Windows Vista, which is Vista's file manager. As users navigate down a folder hierarchy to the file they want, each level is recorded so they can jump to any level without having to move sequentially backward or forward. See breadcrumbs.

The Infamous Start Menu Hierarchy
Each incarnation of Windows buries the Startup folder in some arcane location, which is why Explorer opens up to the Start Menu all the time. This shows the Vista breadcrumb menu, which turns every level into a link to be jumped to.
