Well, the Greek wordnosophoros ("carrier of the plague") evolved into the Slavic word nosufur-atu which is a synonym for the word "vampire". so one can safely assume if the Greek don't call them "vampires", they call them "nosophoros"

Vampire lore has been around since before the advent of writing. Their origins are lost in the history of the spoken word. There are legends and tales told in nearly every culture known about those who died and came back to feast on blood or the flesh of children. They are known by many names: adze, asanbosam, Baswang, Bhūta, BrahmarākŞhasa, chupacabra, Cihuateteo, impundulu, jiang shi, Kuntilanak, Langsui, Leyak, Loogaroo, manananggal, mandurugo, Matianak, Nosferatu, Patasola, Penanggalan, Peuchen, Pontianak, Prét, ramanga, Soucouyant, Tunda, vampires, and vrykolakas. While the vast majority feed only at night, it has been theorized that the proliferation of such legends is tied to the inate human fear of the dark.

I know about vampires because I go to a supernatural boarding school in England, and there are different types of supernatural people there. That's how I know.
