I struggle a bit with Beckett's idea that life is meaningless because most spend it waiting for something or the other. Personally, I think that goals or whatever one waits for provides the motivation to keep moving through life. Think about it, Estragon and Vladimir's alternative to waiting for Godot is killing themselves, but they do not, because they still have some hope.
