WE are TV entertainment for women. WE: Women's Entertainment operates WE tv, a cable network that airs a variety of women-oriented programming to more than 75 million US homes. Its schedule includes such original shows as Bridezillas, Staten Island Cakes, and My Fair Wedding, as well as syndicated reruns, movies, and specials. In addition to television, the network distributes content online through its website, and it runs the WE Empowers Women educational initiative. Launched in 1997 as Romance Classics, the channel was re-branded as WE in 2001. It is owned by leading cable television broadcaster AMC Networks.
