Weezer's Pinkerton came out in 1996. By that time Green Day had had two major albums "Dookie" and "Insomniac" out, along with "39/Smooth" and "Kerplunk."

Insomniac" was Green Day's most recent album when Weezer's "Pinkerton" came out. In "El Scorcho" on "Pinkerton" Rivers Cuomo sings about how a girl he knew had never heard of Green Day

It's on their first album, which is self titled (ie. it's called Weezer). But it's usually referred to as "The Blue Album" due to it's cover (as opposed to the Green and Red albums, which are also called Weezer).

My Name is Jonas is Track 1 on it, and personally I think it's their best album.

Weezer has been around since 2000, and the Green Album has the song Island by the Sun. This album and song can be found to listen to for free on Youtube.
